About Bo Foust

Biography

Bo Foust discovered his love for racing when he was just a toddler memorized by watching Darrell Waltrip (his idol) win races on TV. His parents realized his need for speed when he wore out the plastic tires on his “Big Wheels”. On the weekends, he tagged along with his father as a reserve wrench man for local teams at Orange County, South Boston and Martinsville Speedway in Virginia. Every ride home, he told his dad about his dream to be a “real race car driver one day”.

At four, Foust’s father bought him his first kart and before they knew it, he was making doughnuts in the yard. After there wasn’t any grass left, he moved to dirt. He and his father spent many hours in the garage tinkering with karts -- truly learning the craft from the ground up. The tandem even helped rebuild the dirt track where he won his first Championship at Amelia (Va.) Motor Raceway.

Every Saturday morning, the father-son duo packed up their tools and wedged the kart in the back of the family Chevy Blazer. And, they were off to what ever facility they could find in order to race. After a fun day at the track, there were many late-night journeys home when young Foust fell asleep still sitting in his prized-kart.

Once mastering local dirt tracks, Foust attended Finish Line Racing School at New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway and was awarded “Fastest in Class”. He returned to the track where he developed his passion for racing – Orange County Speedway. His first race car was a 10-year-old chassis that his father found at a junkyard to compete with in the Limited Sportsman Division, NASCAR Whelen All-American Racing Series. A few years later, Foust moved to North Carolina to begin his apprenticeship at a local body shop and ultimately pursue his lifelong dream.

In 2005, he finished second in the overall point standings in the Coca-Cola Late Model Stock Car Division at Concord Motorsport Park – setting the track record while scoring five poles, three wins, 13 top-five and 20 top-10 finishes. In 2006, Bo had 7 poles and 2 outside poles and 5 wins out of only 10 starts with 6 top five and 10 top ten finishes. In 2007, Foust competed at CMP, OCS, South Boston (Va.) Speedway and Motor Mile Speedway in Radford. BFM won the 2007 season opener at CMP recording 5 wins; and out of 72 entries, qualified third, led for 40 laps and finished in the top 10, for the 2007 year-end race at Myrtle Beach Speedway.

Foust has collected more than 90 career wins. His trips to the Winner’s Circle include competition in the Late Model Stock Car Division, World Karting Association and Virginia Dirt Karting Association. Foust is technically savvy and personable with his fans and crew, which is invaluable as a racer. His commitment and fierce dedication on-and-off track will not only steer him back to Victory Lane, but achieving his goal of racing in the elite divisions of NASCAR.
